A tour of the BucksStar Brewery in Milton Keynes
Bucks Star is Milton Keynes’ own real ale microbrewery, using the traditional artisan method of brewing and sourcing the best ingredients, to deliver consumers the purest quality real beer. Datis Gol, the head brewer and founder, embarked on his journey of opening a boutique micro-brewery after becoming curious about the differences between mainstream beers and micro-brewed artisan beers. In 2013, Datis continued learning about the basics of brewing, whilst taking steps to eventually opening up a brewery in his hometown of Milton Keynes.
Instantly, the name for the brewery and beer was obvious, Bucks Star, “Bucks” abbreviated from Buckinghamshire, the county in which Milton Keynes sits. His brother, Daria, has also been involved in the brewery from its inception, selecting the highest quality ingredients and keeping the beers pure. Bucks Star, possibly the first solar-powered micro-brewery, employs a tripartite philsophy, focusing on (1) ecology (2) health and (3) community.
